The Price City’s Desert Wave Pool is hosting a Community Pool Party on Monday, February 26 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This is a celebration to show off the completion of the resurfacing project that took place inside the wave pool portion.
“We drained the pool, I think January 29 or something like that, we drained it and then they came in and acid washed the bottom, put knew plaster down and fix some of the tile that was on the bottom,” said Facilities Manager, Tamara Gray. “We have re-plastered the bottom of it, so everyone that came and had sore feet after it has been improved.” Patrons will see a big improvement in the appearance as soon as they enter the wave pool.
The event start time coincides with the Carbon School District early release schedule on Mondays. “School is out early, so we are opening up at 1:00 pm and we will be open till 8:00 pm. We’re going to have canoe battleship, we are going to show a little sample of that, which is something that we do on teen nights; which is coming up and we will be offering year-round,” stated Gray. There will also be a life size game of Jenga to enjoy, which will have some fun direction that each player will have to accomplish like jumping jacks, sit ups etc. Other activities include music provided by Jen Perkins from the Artz Center, demonstration of the water aerobics program where guests are invited to try a session.
The cost for the event is only $1.00 per person and there will free tube rental for the entire event. This will be the only time that the Desert Wave Pool will offer 10 percent off all passes and punch card purchases. The concession stand will be open so patrons can enjoy one of the many delicious menu items.
