EPHRAIM – Four Utah State Eastern men’s basketball players have been named to All-Region XVIII teams at the conference tournament.

Sophomores Rafael Monteiro, Kristupas Totoris, Neema Namdar and Milan Surlic’ have been named to the 2017-2018 all-region teams.

Monteiro was named first team All-Region XVIII after leading the Eagles in scoring with 14.1 points per game. He also was the team’s leading rebounder with 6.1 rebounds per game. Monteiro led the Scenic West Athletic Conference in field goal percentage with .587 %.

In his second season with the Eagles, Totoris was named second team All-Region XVIII after averaging 12.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting 42.7 percent from three-point territory.

Totoris broke the school record for three pointers made in a game with 11 three pointers made on January 11 against Colorado Northwest. The record was previously broken a week earlier by fellow teammate Neema Namdar.

Namdar and Surlic’ were each named honorable mention All-Region XVIII.

Namdar led the Eagles and the conference in three-point shooting with 94 three pointers made. He averaged 11.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

Surlic’ averaged 9.5 points, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game in second season with the Eagles. He was in the top five in the conference in assist to turnover ratio, assists, and steals.

The Eagles finished the season with a 17-12 overall record with a 6-6 conference record.

They finished the season as the third seed in the conference tournament and will take on the two seed College of Southern Idaho on Friday at 2 p.m. in the semifinals.
