The Pinnacle Panther’s basketball season came to a close with a 68-34 loss to the Rich Rebels in the semifinals of the consolation bracket at the 1A State Championship tournament Friday evening in Richfield.
Logan Ellington scored a team best ten points to lead the Panthers in the final contest of the season. Isaiah Wilstead contributed nine, and Dalton Cook finished with six.
Outscored in each of the four quarters the Panthers struggled to slow the highly efficient Rich offense. Pinnacle converted just 13 field goals throughout the contest, compared to 26 for the Rebels.
Kamran Calder delivered a game-high 14 points for Rich in what turned out to be a balanced offensive performance. Kinnen Clark reached double-figures with ten, while Jordan Cook and Nick Jarman finished with nine.
Friday’s season ending loss places Pinnacle’s final record at 11-13 overall. Finishing third in Region 19 with a 4-6 mark, the Panthers participated in three 1A State Tournament game.
