The Carbon Lady Dinos made up 27 shots on the overall Region 14 leaderboard with a dominating first place performance at the Sunset View Golf Course in Delta.
As a team Carbon finished four strokes better than second place Providence Hall with a final score of 408. Delta ended in third with a 435, followed by Juab’s 447 and Union’s 467.
“I’m very proud of my team,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “In tough, windy conditions my girls really had to grind it out. I tip my hat to all of them, because we did it as a team.”
Carbon entered Wednesday’s meet in third place in the division, trailing Juab by six strokes for second and Delta by 30 for first. The dominating performance now places Carbon alone in second, just three strokes back of the Rabbits.
Sophomore Jordan Bianco tied for second individually, leading Carbon with a 94. Aubrey Fausett finished right behind with 100, while Sam King shot a 104.
Now set for spring break Carbon will take the next two weeks off before returning on April 12 against Juab. The lone home meet of the season will follow on April 19.
