Castle Country Radio has designated Carbon County Children’s Justice Center as the Charity of the Month. This is a conjunction of March being recognized as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The CJC serves both Carbon and Emery Counties by helping children along with their families build stronger and healthier relationships.
The most important service offered through the CJC is their Child Abuse Prevention and Investigation Program. The organization ensures that the assigned interviewers are forensically trained to present the appropriate questions to a child during these types of investigations. The CJC will also coordinate medical exams, therapy sessions and guides the family to the appropriate resources that they are in need of during the crisis.
The CJC works with many different community agencies to provide the best support for parents to take control of their lives by strengthening their parenting and coping skills. This is why they offer a Crisis Nursery for parents who are in situations that call for court appearances, doctor appointments, medical emergencies, escaping family violence or attend support meetings.
The local CJC will be hosting an Open House on April 10 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Emery County satellite location and then again from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Carbon County location. This type of Open House is taking place throughout the entire State of Utah in conjunction with April being recognized as the National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
CJC will recognize the Utah Family Month from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day with a wonderful family activity, further details on the event will come at a later time.
