Cody Lowe blasted six RBI’s and recorded his first home run of the region season as the Carbon Dinos defeated the Providence Hall Patriots 13-5 Wednesday afternoon in Herriman.

Playing a make-up game originally scheduled for March 23, the Dinos scored four runs in the first three innings. Despite some brief surges of offense from the Patriots, Carbon managed to take a comfortable wire-to-wire win.

Lowe’s game high six RBI’s came from a 4-5 performance at the plate, which also included a home run and double. Both Braxton Bennett and Ty Anderson finished with two hits, while Nate Olsen finished 1-3 with a triple and two RBI’s.

Locked in a tight 5-2 score, Carbon opened the game open with a six run sixth inning. Following a three run surge in the bottom of the same inning from Providence Hall, Carbon added two more in the seventh.

Zac Bradley was awarded the win on the mound after striking out five batters in five innings. Jadon Robertson provided two innings of relief striking out one and allowing just one hit.

Now 3-0 in region play, Carbon will next face the Delta Rabbits on the road Friday afternoon for the second and final time this regular season. The Dinos won the first meeting on Tuesday with a thrilling comeback in the bottom of the seventh.
