Price City has been working hard on improving the roads around town and will continue to do so during the summer months. Council Member Terry Willis stopped by the Castle Country Radio Station to share the information with listeners.
“A couple of the roads that I think people are interested in and have been in disarray for a while is the 400 South and then 800 North and those projects were part of our flood control measures,” stated Willis. The city hopes to have both projects done by the end of April now that the asphalt plant has started up.
The next big road project will involve utility work and resurfacing work on 100 South. “We scheduled it so we could do both the utility work and the road work at the same time so we won’t hopefully be reopening that road up and creating, you know, new divots in there very soon,” said Willis. From 300 East to Carbon Avenue will only receive resurfacing work that section is not needing utility work. During this time of road work may involve some road closures and restrictions so citizens are asked to please be patient during the process.
“We’ve got a list of some of the most traveled roads, we’re going to be doing some chip resealing on the tops of those. So, I know our roads right now have been kind of a frustrating part for a lot of our citizens, in the end, our road system will be looking a lot better,” said Willis. Roads that are on the agenda will be near Mont Harmon Middle School and down through Carbon Avenue. The chip seal work allows for more miles of road maintenance for the same amount of money that it would take to redo the entire road. Citizens can stay informed about road construction by visiting the Price City website at http://www.priceutah.net/
Price City will start its annual community clean up on April 14 till April 22. This is an opportunity the homeowners can begin to clean up their yards. “You can begin to put your debris out on the curb and Price City will come around and pick that up for you for no charge. Carbon County has decided to match the times that Price City has their clean up going and so through those two weekends they are going to waive the dump fees,” said Willis. To see a list of curbside restrictions please visit the city’s website for clarification.
