Each year of the event Dr. Jon Pressett looks at the needs of agencies or individuals within the community that are chosen to benefit from the proceeds. “All of the proceeds are going to go to Frank Ori and his family to help ease the cost of medical expenses and living expenses for someone that is not able to work,” said Martin. It has been four months since Carbon Recreation Director, Frank Ori suffered a massive stroke. He is currently enduring long hours of physical therapy in a Utah county facility which he’s making wonderful progress each day. It was an easy decision to know who would benefit from the 5K this year because Ori has been a huge part in coordinating the race each year and is an integral part of serving the entire community.

The route for the race will begin at the hospital run through the Westwood neighborhood and back to the hospital. Once the race is completed, there will be awards presented to the individuals with the fastest time. “We’ll have men, women and 13 and under – first, second and third place – gold, silver, bronze medals,” said Martin. This event is a fun event held for all ages in the community. Any questions about the event can be answered by calling the clinic at 637-4590.
