The Division of Wildlife Resources will be hosting a Women’s Trap Shooting Clinic on Saturday, May 19 in Green River. The event is free with only a few spots available for female participants over the age of 12 years old. A free lunch will be provided for participants.

“So basically, what this is it’s a great way to get started into shot gun shooting. Shooting itself can be challenging if you don’t have someone who can kind of guide you along,” said Conservation Outreach Manager, Morgan Jacobsen. This is a great opportunity for women who are beginners at trap shooting as well as for those who want to take their shooting abilities to the next level.

The clinic will start with a classroom portion at the Green River City Hall. “It’s going to start at 10:00 am with a classroom session. We’ll talk about safety, we’ll talk about ways shotguns work, different chokes, different loads of ammunition, how to shoot clay pigeons and then in the afternoon we’ll go out to the shooting range down there and we’ll put those new-found skills to the test.” Guns and ammunition will be provided, but women are free to bring their own. If individuals own eye and ear protection, please bring it, but shooting glasses and ear plugs will be on hand, if needed.

Registration is required due to limited seating and can be done online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/womens-trap-shooting-clinic-green-river-registration-44996293124
