The Carbon Lady Dinos completed the 2018 golf season with a fourth place finish at the 3A State Championship Tournament Wednesday afternoon at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield.
Competing over a two-day span the Lady Dinos made the second day cut after shooting a 398 in Tuesday’s opening round. A 26-stroke improvement Wednesday allowed the team finish inside the top five with a final score of 770.
“We had a mediocre first day that caused a little disappointment. We were just flat,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “Attitude and confidence can go a long way and the girls proved it on day two.”
The Richfield Wildcats dominated the competition with a final score of 668, topping second place Morgan by 71 strokes. Judge Memorial’s 339 placed them third and Providence Hall rounded out the top five with a 784.
Jordan Bianco posted a team low two-day score of 169, which placed her fourth overall individually. Bianco finished just 11-strokes behind Richfield’s Hayden Harris, who took home the top individual performance.
“Every girl on this team made big strides over the last two days,” said Otani. “I am very proud of each and everyone of them.”
