Carbon High School senior Cody Lowe has been named Region 14’s Most Valuable Player, leading the list of eight Dinos recognized for individual play.

Cesar Laya, Ty Anderson, Zac Bradley and Nate Olson received Region 14 First-Team selections. Collin Lewis, Braxton Bennett and Anthony Jones were all named to the All-Region Second-Team.

Lowe, a senior leader on this year’s team, finished the season with recorded 52 hits on his way to a dominating .510 batting average. Leading the team with 40 RBIs, Lowe also notched 18 doubles, five triples and three home runs.

Bradley was pegged as the ace on the mound for the Dinos throughout the season. Finishing with a record of 3-3 on the mound, he finished with the team’s second lowest earned run average. In the box Bradley batted .309 and brought in 16 runs.

Infielder and foreign exchange student Cesar Laya earned his First-Team selection with production at the plate and in the field. Finishing with a .326 batting average, Laya ended with a .404 on base percentage and gathering an .843 fielding percentage.

Ty Anderson earned his selection after batting .379 with a .483 OBP. Holding one of the most consistent bats on the team, Anderson finished second in RBIs with 22.

Olson batted .321 during his senior campaign and brought in 19 RBIs. Olson also earned recognition for outstanding work in the classroom. After getting an Academic All-State nod in football this past fall, Olson was one of 10 athletes selected to the 3A baseball academic squad. The group’s accumulated a combined 3.991 GPA.
