Come to celebrate the summer every Thursday evening at the Price City Peace Gardens for the annual Culture Connection Summer Concerts. This free musical event is sure to appeal to all ages by some very talented musicians.
“We start June 14, it’s our first event starts at 7:00 pm and then we run through August 16 is our final one,” said Price City Councilman, Layne Miller. “Dinner in the park, music, lawn chairs, it’s just a fabulous time.” Along with local musicians returning to perform for guests, Market Express will be manning the grill with delicious food and cold drinks again this year.
The 2018 Summer Concert series will start with two acts, Trinalee Hatch whom will sing Broadway hits, Disney songs, pop/rock and country and Mary Lou Steel and daughter will entertain the crowd with a variety of classics. Culture Connection would not be complete without The Jeff Keele Band who is sure to give a high energy performance of country, rock and original hits on June 21.
This year’s calendar will feature a wide array of musical genre by musicians from out of the area. “On June 28 we have a band coming from the Moab area it’s called Quicksand Soup. It’s going to be a three-piece group, they play the kind of music that you would like to sit around the campfire and listen to,” stated Councilman Miller. One of the out of town groups that have become a favorite in Carbon County is The Deltaz who will take the stage on July 5 with their wide spectrum of sounds from heavy blues, psychedelic rock to classic country and folk.
A first-time performance of Broadway Favorites will be performed on July 12 with Angie Murray. “Then a new group, this is one of those fun to listen to, they play all the music that will make you get up and dance and they’re called Timeless, they’re from the Wasatch front,” said Councilman Miller. The group plays everything from Journey, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi to all the best Pop, Rock, Country and much more.
On July 26 will be the opening of Price City International Days with Los Hermanos De Los Andes, a tradition in Price this group plays traditional Andean music using homemade South American Instruments. Paul Cave will be performing on August 2 with hits from Frank Sinatra to Michael Buble. Three local favorites, Jennifer Lopez, Kristy Woodhouse and Sherri Vlamakis with special guests will take the stage on August 9.
The final concert will be held on August 16 featuring Route 89 who performs hits from the 60s to today. This will be the kick-off for the opening of Helper’s Arts, Music and Film Festival.
The performances for Culture Connection have been booked but there are still some openings for Price City’s International Days Celebration on July 27 and 28. If you would like to perform please contact Councilman Miller at (435) 820-4326.
