Emery High School senior Easton Gordon was named first team All-State joining 14 others among the 3A classification.

Gordon, who helped lead the Spartans to the 3A state championship tournament, was the lone Emery player to be named to the All-State list.

Leading the team at the plate throughout the season, Gordon finished with a .437 batting average and served as the team’s primary shortstop. Gordon also became the top pitcher for the Spartans, ending the season with a 1.39 ERA with 44 strikeouts.

The All-State recognition was the second in as many year’s for Gordon as he was tabbed as an honorable mention during his junior campaign in 2017.

The 3A All-State teams were selected by each of the coaches in the classification and the Deseret News selects a MVP from the group.
