The Eighth Annual Fourth of July SEUPA Energy Days Celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Events Center located at 450 South Fairgrounds Way.

New this year is a Patriotic Parade that kicks off Energy Days beginning at 3:00 pm on Main Street in Price. This is a great advertising opportunity and there is still time to register to be a part of this first annual parade by calling Megan Marshall at 650-0698.

The doubles horseshoe tournament will start registration at 3:30 pm, with the tournament starting promptly at 4:00 pm. There will be cash prizes awarded to the top three teams. For further information please call Ro at 820-6636.

Following the parade head up to the Carbon County Fairgrounds Event Center for all the fun activities scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm. There will be free hotdog dinner to the first 1,000 guests. If you’re craving barbeque, What Are You Smoking? will be on hand for guests to purchase their delicious items. After dinner, enjoy free ice cream from Cold Stone Ice Cream at 7:00 pm.

The fun activities and contests for all ages will begin at 6:00 pm such as the pie eating contest, energy trivia, hot dog eating contest, not to be left out is a children’s cupcake eating contest. The coal shovel contest will begin at 7:00 pm, with the tire flip contest following at 8:00 pm. A free concert will also begin at 8:00 pm featuring hometown favorite The Jeff Keele Band who is sure to entertain the crowd. The Energy Days Celebration would not be complete without a large and amazing fireworks display.

This free event and this year’s contests, food, activities and fireworks organizers are expecting a larger crowd.  “This community is absolutely amazing when it comes to this but I think they see the benefit of it, they see how important the energy is in this area and the opportunity that we have to come together for our Patriotic event and to you know explain and really make people knowledgeable in our energy industry it is a great event,” said Karra Hillam, SEUEPA Director.
