Dustin Lofley and Mike Lofley claimed first place in the Third Annual Pleasant Valley Days Horseshoe Tournament Saturday in Scofield.

Dylan Olson and Daniel Cowan nabbed second place, while Erick Trejo and Tommy Elkface finished in third.

Participants battled the heat throughout the tournament, which lasted nearly four hours, to win several prizes that were donated by merchants from around the Castle Country.

The next horseshoe tournament will take place Wednesday, July 4, in conjunction with SEUPA’s Energy Days at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Event Center. Registration will begin at 3:30 p.m., while the tournament is scheduled to start at 4:00. The cost to participate is $20.00 per team.
