Erick Trejo and Tommy Elkface secured first place in the annual SEUPA Energy Days Horseshoes Tournament Wednesday afternoon at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Event Center.

Competing against 22 other teams, Trejo and Elkface managed to work through the one-loss bracket in the double-elimination format. Ricky Neal Sandoval and Josh Eden finished in second, while Randi Williams and BJ Davis rounded out the top three.

Wednesday’s tournament was the second in a series of consecutive weekly tournaments, which will wrap up this weekend. Up next will be the first Annual Warriors Days Tournament at the Carbon County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 7.

Saturday’s tournament will feature a doubles (double elimination) competition. Registration will take place at 11:00 a.m., followed by the start of competition at 12:00 p.m..
