Fierce Fighting Championship will return to the Carbon County Event Center Saturday July 14 with a full card highlighted by the opening round of a Lightweight Grand Prix Tournament.
“We put together eight pro fighters, some of the best you’ll find in this part of the country,” said Fierce Fighting Championship owner and promoter Cody Bunderson. “We have added cash bonuses if these guys finish the fight with a TKO, knockout or submission. We are encouraging the action that is crowd pleasing.”
The tournament itself will take place over the course of three shows, with increasing pay and bonuses for each round. The eventual winner of the tournament will walk away with the promotions Lightweight Championship Belt and the possibility of $12,000.00.
The eight participating Lightweight contenders competing were carefully selected by Fierce Fighting Championship, each having rising star status in the Western United States.
“When we came up with this concept and put this on social media the interest was crazy,” said Bunderson. “Former UFC fighters applied for this. I would have loved to bring some of those guys in, but I really wanted to keep this competitive. We tried to match the eight fighters that were most deserving based on experience and what we know of them.”
The opening round of the tournament will feature:
Nate Kearsley (3-2) VS Randy Rowland (2-2)
Bobby King (3-2) VS Kerry Lattimer (7-14)
Clay Wimer (8-4) VS Michael Garcia (2-1)
Dustin Jenkins (2-1) VS Tanner Cowan (6-4)
The four tournament fights will only be a section of the entire evening, which will feature 10 fights in all. Tickets for the event are currently on sale online at fiercefightingchampionship.com. The remaining tickets available after the pre-sale will be available at the door, which is schedule to open at 5:00 p.m..
