During the evening hours on July 2, 2018, Wellington Police and the Carbon County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a missing juvenile in the area of 800 West Highway Drive.

The juvenile had slipped out of the house and headed to the Los Jilbertos Restaurant at 15 West Main Street in Wellington. The employees at Los Jilbertos immediately contacted officers and advised them that the juvenile was there and was safe and sound.

When Officer Nick Parker made contact with the juvenile, he found said juvenile had acquired some unlikely transportation along the way. In a fast and furious fashion, the very young juvenile acquired a green Power Wheels Dune Extreme ride complete with chrome rims and reclining seats. Officer Parker attempted to contact residents along the path the Juvenile took in an attempt to return the property, but unfortunately, no has claimed ownership.

If any residents living in the area between Center Street and 800 West Highway Drive in Wellington missing a green Power Wheels Dune Extreme care can find it at the Wellington City Police Department. Officers would love to return it to the rightful owner.

A huge thank you to the employees at Los Jilbertos (15 West Main Street) for their quick and caring response and providing some sweet treats to keep said Juvenile happy and safe.

With the warmer temperatures and longer days, law enforcement are seeing more traffic on the highway and would like to remind everyone to be attentive while driving.
