Community Daze played host to one of the largest horseshoes tournaments of the year in the Castle Country, welcoming in 27 teams and 20 individuals for a full day of competition Saturday in East Carbon.

Mike Lofley and Dustin Lofley outlasted all teams in a double-elimination tournament that lasted nearly six hours to claim first place. Dakota Andrews and Gilbert Sandoval finished second, followed by Cameron Phillips and Russell Morrison in third.

Tommy Martinez capped off a stellar day at the pits by grabbing the singles championship for the second consecutive year. The single elimination format ended as Martinez defeated second place finisher Brett Davis.

The next horseshoe tournament will take place on Saturday, July 28, in-conjunction with Price City International Days. The cost to register is $20.00 per team. Registration for the tournament will take place at 12:00 p.m.. that day, followed by the start at 1:00 p.m..
