Price City’s Desert Wave Pool is thrilled to be hosting their annual free swim days geared around the International Days celebration. This will be held from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 7, in addition to the indoor pool made available from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Tube rental for the day will be $2.00 when a tube is returned a $1.00 reimbursement will be given.

At one time during the International Days celebration, the free swim event was only offered for one day. However, Tamara Gray, Aquatics Director felt that was not beneficial to the public, “We had in the past, a lot of times people would come on Friday and say, is it free swim day, well no it was yesterday, so the last couple of years we said, hey let’s do it Thursday and Friday.” Most of the planned activities will begin at 1:00 pm to allow folks a chance to get there on time run till approximately 6:00 pm so that they may attend other International Days evening activities.

Pinnacle HVAC has made it possible for community members to enjoy the free swim on Thursday, as well as provided the prizes for all the competitions. “We do our annual swimsuit contest for all ages, we divide up into age group, go by the cheers of the crowd to see who their favorite is and we give out prizes,” stated Gray. The annual belly flop and cannonball competition will also be held during the afternoon.

The Boys and Girls Club will be sponsoring free swim on Friday, they have planned some surprise activities and contests for guests to enjoy.

“We have the concession stand, you know the food is really inexpensive treats – pretzels, pizzas, churros, corn dogs. We will have a full concession area open both those days as well,” said Gray. Also available is their specialty of fried green beans, deep fried pickles and ice-cold beverages to wash it all down with.

Free admission for both days gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy the pool as well as activities in the park. To see more about International Days, visit their website at www.pricecityutah.com
