The 2018-19 high school sports season is set to begin in early August for a number of programs.
The first official game for the Emery Spartans will take place when the golf team travels to Richfield on Wednesday, Aug. 1. From that point on the team will have one meet every week throughout the next two months in the lead up to October’s State Championship Tournament.
The Lady Spartan’s soccer team will travel to meet Cyprus on Aug. 9. The Lady Spartans will continue the season on Aug. 10 at Ben Lomond. The regular season will come to a close on Oct. 4 at home against South Summit.
Football will not be far behind as the season is set to open on on Aug. 17 at home against the Richfield Wildcats on KOAL 107.3 FM and 750 AM. Entering season three under head coach Jon Faimalo, the Spartans will play its first road game two weeks later against Grand.
The cross country team will begin the season on Aug. 17 at Sugarhouse. Sept. 1/ will mark the lone home meet for Emery. This year’s region meet will take place in Moab on Oct. 9.
Girl’s tennis will start the season Aug. 24. The team will travel to meet San Juan and then play host to Richfield on Aug. 28. The Regional Tournament on Sept. 21 at Manti.
The volleyball season will begin when the Lady Spartans travel to rival Carbon on Aug. 22. The team will then head to St. George for a two day tournament on Aug. 24 and 25.
