Castle Country Radio Stations held their Fourth Annual So You Think You Can Sync competition on Saturday, July 28 during the final evening of Price City’s International Days Celebration. The contest is certainly building a reputation of bringing extraordinary, fun entertainment to the numerous spectators that flock to the main stage on the final evening of the city’s biggest community event.

The competition had ten contestants and/or groups who performed in front of the panel of judges where they were judged in three categories: originality which consists of dance moves, costumes, and props. Appearance, which is audience appeal, eye contact and rhythm; and finally, lip sync abilities.

All contestants performed their song of choice first, then returned to the stage to present their second song that was provided by the radio station; song selections ranged from Elvis, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Shania Twain and that’s just to name a few.

This year’s grand prize of $1,000.00 went to Spencer Eaton who gave an energizing performance of a mash-up of Michael Jackson songs and sealed the deal for first place with his second song performance of I Want You Back by NSYNC.

Second place went to The Gigglers, who received $500.00 for their performance of You’re The One That I Want from Grease and Blank Space by Taylor Swift.

Kayla Wilson was able to take home $250 as the third-place finisher with her lip sync performance of I’m Dappin by Jordyn Jones, followed by her second song of A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash.

Castle Country Radio Stations, Mornings with Mallery and KARB’s Big Dave were MCs for the evening and recruited some intermission entertainment while judges tallied their scores. The judges this year were Deserae Stevenson with Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, Candace Bradley with Community Nursing Services, Terry Willis who is a Price City Council Member and Greg Dart with USU-Eastern.

The surprise intermission entertainment was a few members of the Carbon County Sheriff’s Department who did a mash-up of 80s hair bands that the crowd enjoyed and were brought to their feet with the numerous songs performed.
