The Emery County Fair is sure to have Country Fun for Everyone with lots of live entertainment and activities for the entire family. The fair kicked off on Wednesday, August 1 and will run through till Saturday, August 4. The majority of events will take place at the Emery County Fairgrounds facility located at 75 South 400 East in Castle Dale.
“We have a lot of entertainment. For those of you that know Jenny Oaks Baker, she’s coming on Saturday. We have a magician, we have a comedian, we have Hypno Hick, we have a lot of local entertainment,” said an event organizer, Sandra Huntington. Thursday folks can enjoy Clive Romney, local performances and a community theatre production. Friday will feature the Hypno Hick, Comedian/Mentalist Shaun Bott and more local group performances. The final day of the fair will showcase Charley Jenkins, Magician Martin Brock, Jenny Oaks Baker and the Hypno Hick.
Organizers always look to bring in a well-known recording artist to close out the fair with a huge concert set outside of the aquatic center and this year will feature Ned LeDoux. “Oh my goodness, well I’m a fan of his dad, Chris LeDoux. So, when I knew that we had the option of having Ned LeDoux I was ecstatic. So that is the highlight of the whole fair is this Ned LeDoux concert,” explained Huntington. There will also be a cornhole tournament taking place and vendor booths set up at the concert. Advance concert tickets may be purchased at BK’s Stop-N-Shop in Huntington, Aquatic Center in Castle Dale, Emery Telcom in Orangeville and Market Express in Price.
Activities on Thursday will be a BOGO Swim Day at the Aquatic Center, Senior Citizen luncheon and opportunity games, Community Theatre production, Special needs talent show, Junior Entrepreneur Kids Fair, Bike races, Pickle Ball Tournament and Glow in the dark Volleyball.
The Friday activities and events will start at 8:00 am with animal exhibit check-in, pet contest, baby contest, hot dog eating contest, sand volleyball, 3 on 3 basketball, youth rodeo, ATV Rodeo and Derby, a western dance and night golf at the Millsite Golf Course.
Saturday will feature a 5K Walk/Run at 6:00 am, breakfast in the park, parade, children games, several teenage games, live entertainment and a horseshoe tournament.
