The Ascension St Matthew Church would like to invite community member to attend the Heavenly Harp Concert on Tuesday, August 7 at 7:00 pm. The concert will be held at the church at 522 North Homestead Boulevard in Price.

“There is a wonderful group that is coming in that’s called Heavenly Harp, which I think is a lovely name. Harps are magical instruments. These people come live to us in concert from Phoenix, Arizona,” said Pam Adams, Parishioner. “This is a family group that’s coming in. The Gundersons have been playing music all their lives and it just seems like an interesting concert.” The three-person ensemble started in 2004 and tours during the summer months.

Karin Gunderson, along with her son, Ryan and foster daughter, Dijana Hasani make up the group who performs Christian style music. Karin is not only a harpist but also an author of the book, Encounters with Heaven – Stories of God’s Surprising Presence, which is based on inspirational stories from her work as a hospice harpist. Adams explains further, “This is one of the reasons that we decided that this particular group would be a wonderful one to bring into the community because so many people hear the word hospice and it scares them. It’s a well-documented fact that that harp is a soothing instrument.” Gunderson through her ministry has created Christian Harp music CDs and DVDs which will be available for purchase at the concert.
