Emery County Sheriff’s Office honors Retired Lt. David Fillmore, who passed away on Saturday, August 11 at the age of 82. Lt. Fillmore served the citizens of Emery County for 26 years. He was in charge of the Emery County Jail at the time of his retirement in 2001.

Sheriff Funk mentioned that some of the men currently working at ECSO were trained by Lt. Fillmore many years ago. Co-workers also remember that Lt. Fillmore was dedicated to his job and would never miss a day of work. He was known as a very tough, hard-working man who treated the inmates with respect, but who had no problem handling the situation if inmates got out of line. He served Emery County well.

ECSO extends sincere condolences to the Fillmore family. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Huntington LDS Stake Center.
