Alpine Home Medical is pleased to launch a Wheelchair Wash and Fix-it Clinic on August 29 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Washington Park.

“People show up from the community it’s a free event, bring in your manual wheelchair, power wheelchair,” said Branch Manager, Scoti Moon. Individuals can bring any chair in whether it was bought through Alpine Home Medical or not. The purpose of the clinic is to give individuals an opportunity to get a tune-up just like they would for their vehicle.

“We go through it, wash it, clean it up really nice. Diagnose any major issues, nuts and bolts fix those and get you on your way getting them a little more efficient,” said Moon. There is no money or insurance needed in order to receive this service. If the chair is found to be a battery issue, Alpine will work with the insurance to get that taken care of.

If there are major issues found with the chair Alpine Home Medical can arrange for a rep to come to look at the problem. There will be a mobility specialist to diagnose any large issues, as well as, local physicians on site to answer any health-related questions. There will be extra chairs available for individuals transfer to while their chair is receiving maintenance.
