The Carbon Dinos inched one step closer to a Region 14 championship with another landslide victory, this time at the Sunset View Golf Course in Delta.
Finishing with a team score of 330, the Dinos topped second place and host school Delta by 17 strokes. Union finished in third at 350, followed by Juab and Providence Hall. American Leadership Academy and Maeser Prep rounded out the field of seven.
Brady Gagon strengthened his overall lead on the individual leaderboard with a competition low 74. Nick Olson delivered the team’s second low score with an 81. Kaden Slavensky ended with an 86 and Carson Martines delivered the fourth score with an 89.
Wednesday’s performance gives the Dinos a hefty 62-stroke lead over Delta for first place in the region. Gagon also created a 14-stroke advantage on the individual leaderboard, pulling away from second place Jake Henrie.
Only three region meets remain on the regular season schedule before the state tournament on Oct. 1 and 2. The Dinos will continue league play on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the Ranches Golf Club in Eagle Mountain.
