The Carbon Lady Dinos continued Region 14 play with a loss to the Delta Rabbits in a tough four-game set at Carbon High School Tuesday evening.

Entering Tuesday’s contest with a 2-1 region record, the Dinos battled throughout and even claimed the first set 25-20. The Rabbits responded with three consecutive set wins; 29-27, 25-20 and 25-10.

“I’m disappointed in the loss obviously, we definitely should have beat delta,” said head coach Teresa Mower. “We played great for about a game and a half to two games, and then kind of let it go in the end, so we have some things we need to work on for sure.”

The win moves Delta to 5-0 in the first half of region competition, creating a one-game lead over Juab for first overall. The loss for Carbon sends the team to 3-2, placing them third with a one game lead over Maeser Prep.

Tuesday’s region tilt was the first of two this week, with the second coming on the road Thursday evening against Providence Hall. Thursday’s game will complete the first go-around of region action, setting the stage for the final six games of the regular season.
