The Notre Dame Church’s Annual Oktoberfest Celebration will take place on Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29 at the Hope Community Center located at 200 North Carbon Ave in Price. All of the activities begin on both days at 11:00 am till 11:00 pm and is always a fun time for the entire family.
“One of the great events of the Castle Country, family oriented, hopefully, a good value for everybody. Lots of games, prizes, food, fun,” said an Event Organizer, Nick Tatton. “There are some great volunteers that are setting up everything from bounce houses and fish ponds, all kinds of games and activities for kids, they need to be entertained and helped out and have some fun, as well as, the adults.” The activities that adults can enjoy is the silent auction, visit the religious store, partake in games of BINGO, purchase baked goods and crafts.
Dinner will be served on both Friday and Saturday evening as Tatton explains, “A great menu coming up, there’s a Mexican food plate set up for Friday night and I think it’s chicken parmesan dinner on Saturday night, so some nice meals. We also have some of the great local kielbasa sausages there that will be cooked up for everybody, as well as, fair for the kids, so there is hot dogs and hamburgers and chips and things like that.” Notre Dame Church’s Oktoberfest has been an incredible accomplishment in past years thanks to all the generous donations and volunteerism from parishioners.
All of the money raised throughout the two-day event stays local to benefit the church’s charitable and civic involvements. In past years, proceeds have facilitated car seats for kids, the Angel Tree program, some of the AP testing at Carbon High, programs at Castleview Hospital, as well as, assisted the D.A.R.E. program. The amount of assistance that the church is able to offer is determined by the overall success of the event each year.
