Castle Country Radio would like to give voters a chance to get to know their candidates through a series of Meet the Candidates assemblies. The Q&A events will be held every Tuesday at 5:00 pm during the month of October at the Utah State University Eastern’s Jennifer Leavitt Student Center at 400 East 451 North. Voters may sit in on the event if they choose or can listen live on KOAL FM 107.3/AM 750 or access the live stream at www.KOALitv.com, both may be accessed through our website at www.castlecountryradio.com.

The first session on October 2 will be held at Emery High School at 975 North Center Street in Castle Dale where candidates for the Emery County Attorney seat will be guests, Mike Olsen and David Blackwell. Also scheduled to appear is Greg Funk and John Barnett both running for Emery County Sheriff.

The second session will be held on October 9 at the Utah State University Eastern’s Jennifer Leavitt Student Center. The candidates attending will be looking to fill the Utah State Representative 69 seat which are Republican Christine Watkins and Democratic Tim Glen. Also the political contestants for the Carbon County Clerk/Auditor seat will be in attendance, Seth Marsing and Salika Laulu Merrell both vying for the position.

The campaigners for the Carbon County Commissioner seat will be featured on October 16 in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center and those individuals are Ed Chavez, Larry Jensen and Cheryl Lupo.

The final session will be held on October 23 inside the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center with the candidates for Carbon County Commissioner/Surveyor John Jones, Tony Martines and Melvin Coonrod.

Any voters that would like to submit a question to the candidates may do so by emailing election2018@koal.net. As a reminder, not all questions will be presented due to the numbers of candidates and allotted time during each session.
