Castleview Hospital, along with General Surgeons Dr. Jon Pressett and Dr. Kyle Jeffery would like to invite all the ladies in the community to come out for an informative and educational presentation about breast cancer. This evening event is being held in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the South Entrance Classroom of the hospital.
“This is our Third Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner it’s on October 16, Jon Presset and Kyle Jeffery are two General Surgeons are going to come and do a presentation,” said Physicians Relations, Jenn Colosimo. “The presentation itself is wonderful. They go through the risks, the preventions; so how to do a self-breast exam, what to do if lumps are found, what we can do in our community to keep you local instead of sending you over the mountain.” Also, in attendance and sharing information will be representatives from the Radiology Department and Chemo IV Therapy.
There will be door prizes awarded to the first 50 individuals that walk through the door, as well as fun giveaways throughout the evening. Colosimo explains a great incentive for some educators that attend, “So for the first ten school teachers that come in they will leave with a basket full of school supplies for their classroom.”
Another great benefit in attending the Girl’s Night Out is to learn mammograms. “A mammogram once you are at the age of 40 is considered preventative care and most insurances cover preventative care 100 percent. Unless in the event that you’re under that age and it’s a family hereditary thing you can still go through insurances and have it covered so that your healthcare is at your benefit and not your deficit,” stated Colosimo. Any other questions guests have regarding mammograms can speak with the Radiology Department representative that evening.
Come join in the fight against breast cancer. Organizers would like ladies to RSVP but it is not required, to do so call 637-4800 ext. 4022.
