Community Nursing Services is excited to be hosting the Second Annual Bags ‘n Brews Cornhole Tournament on November 10 at 6:00 pm at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Event Center located at 450 South Fairgrounds Road.
“Its November 10, it is a Saturday, we are going to have the doors open at 6:00 pm and our bags are going to fly at 7:00 pm, we are starting the tournament right at 7:00 pm,” said Team Assistant, Candace Bradley. “This year we are going big, $1,000.00 cash prize to the winners.” The cost to participate is $40.00 per team and includes a buffet dinner and any spectators are welcomed to come root for their favorite teams for an admission cost of $10.00 per person which includes dinner too.
The proceeds earned will benefit the Senior Wish Program which is an amazing and unique program through CNS that grants the wishes of elderly hospice patients. “A good example would be, we’ve had a couple of World War II Veterans that were pilots and they want to fly one last time before they pass away. Then there are others that are super small, where we had a little lady that just wanted a shrimp dinner. It can be little or big but we need the funding to keep it going,” stated Bradley. This is a wonderful way for the community to show our oldest generation kindness, respect and admiration.
Teams must register no later than October 27 by calling CNS at (435) 613-8887. Individuals who are unable to attend the tournament but would like to contribute towards the Senior Wish Program may stop by the CNS office located at 480 South Carbon Avenue.
