Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and longtime friend, Mary Haws Worthen passed away October 16, 2018 at the Heirloom Inn in Price after just recently celebrating her 91st birthday.

She was born September 22, 1927 in Panguitch, Utah to William J. and Myrtle Sargent Haws. Married J Frank Worthen, June 21, 1945 in the St. George Temple; he preceded her in death on October 20, 1995.

Mary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in numerous callings including as a member of the stake relief society presidency and as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple.

Survivors include her four children, Marsha Atwood, Elmo, Clyde (Barbara) Worthen, Albuquerque, NM, Karen (Mark) Spear, Spokane, WA, Kevin (Peggy) Worthen, Provo; brother, Don (JoAnn) Ipson, St. George; sisters-in-law, Maxine Haws, Hurricane, Tanya Sargent, Salt Lake City; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, J Frank Worthen; a grandson, son-in-law, Jim Atwood; brothers, Doug Haws and Kay Sargent; and her sister, Minnie Johnson.

Funeral service, Saturday, October 20, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Price Fifth LDS Ward Chapel (545 East 400 North).  Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Mary online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
