The Carbon Lady Dinos defeated the Providence Hall Patriots in the final home contest of the season Tuesday evening at home.

Locked in a tight battle for Region 14’s No. 3 seed, the Lady Dinos wasted little time defeating the Patriots in straight sets. After winning the first 25-9, Carbon dominated the final two sets 25-12 and 25-14.

“I’m super proud of our girls, this is a great way to end a great season,” said head coach Teresa Mower. “They worked so hard all season, so it’s fun to see it come together at the end.”

Tuesday’s win ends a two-game region losing skid after back-to-back losses to Union and Delta. The win also locks up third place in the tight division race.

Carbon will now turn it’s attention to the state championship tournament, which begins on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Utah Valley University in Orem. The Dinos will go toe-to-toe with the No. 3 seed from Region 15, which has yet to be determined.
