Each month Price City sends a representative to Castle Country Radio to keep listeners posted or informed on various topics. This month brought in Nick Tatton, Price City Community Director to share various safety tips that come to light during the upcoming holidays.

“There’s always things that the Public Safety folks will want to make sure that the message is out on, things like extension cords, don’t run them across the hallways or through the middle of the rooms, don’t overload the outlets, fire safety with smoke detectors,” stated Tatton. Any citizens that have questions can contact Fire Chief Bedont to discuss numerous safety practices for at home or work.

“The other is in terms of snow. Some years we have big amounts of snow and some years we don’t get any but also the street parking during snow storms so the snow plows can get by safely and help clear the roads so everybody can get around its little things make a big difference sometimes,” explained Tatton. Any vehicles parked in the pathway of snow plows are hindering the clearing of their neighborhood roads. City Ordinances require homeowners to clear sidewalks around their home within 24 hours of a snowstorm to allow for safe passage of pedestrians.

Tatton closed with a friendly reminder for all citizens, “We would like to remind everyone that to take a little pride in the community and make sure that if you have friends and neighbors that need a little help with their yards, their snow on their sidewalks that be mindful, be a good community member and together we can all make a big difference.”
