The Annual St. Anthony Catholic Carnival will be held at the Helper Civic Auditorium located at 22 South Main on Thursday, November 8 with a dinner, then continue Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10 with dinner and all the other family fun activities.

“The St Anthony’s Carnival has been happening since the 1940s and it really hasn’t changed much over the decades. We have our Turkey dinner on Thursday night and the carnival is Friday and Saturday night, we also have a special dinner on Saturday the 10th it’s a Mexican dinner,” explained Erica Kardelis, an event organizer. Thursday night the Turkey dinner features roast turkey and all the trimmings from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm. The cost for the dinner is $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for children under the age of 12 years old. For Saturday’s Mexican dinner it starts at 4:00 pm and ends at 6:30 pm. It will feature enchilada, rice and beans with a cost of $10.00 for adults and $6.00 for children under the age of 12 years old. There will be take-out available for both dinners. There will also be hamburger, hot dogs, kielbasa and sweet treats for purchase.

There will be opportunity games, silent auction, children’s games/activities and vendor booths. “Year after year the businesses continue to support us and I highly recommend that you come and win some of these prizes because they are just amazing,” stated Kardelis. Items include gift baskets and certificates, metal firepit, Budweiser cooler, Coca-cola swag, autographed REAL soccer ball and much more.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We have another Spaghetti dinner in the Spring but this is what really keep St Anthony’s going. We’re a small parish and this fundraiser pays a simple, keep the lights on and pays for the heating bill but it also allows for St Anthony to continue on into the future,” explained Kardelis. It also helps with the church’s charitable donations.
