The annual Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 11 at 10:30 am at the Price City Peace Garden at 185 East Main Street.

The special day of observance will begin with the short walk from 300 East Main to the Price City Peace Garden. All Veterans are to gather no later than 10:15 am so they may walk alongside Price American Legion, Price Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Guard to the Price City Peace Gardens.

The recognition service will start with a salute for all Veterans past and present by American Legion Post #3. The Pledge of Allegiance will be given, followed by a 21-gun salute in honor of the peace agreement signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

The holiday was originally known as Armistice Day, but was altered in1954 to “Veterans Day,” in order to account for everyone who has served in any branch of the United States military.

All Castle Country residents young and old are encouraged to attend this special event to show our local Veterans that we appreciate their willingness to serve, celebrate their bravery and sacrifices.

For questions about the event please call American Legion Post 3 Commander David Jelin at 609-8765.
