Marcia Poston died peacefully in her sleep on November 20, 2018. For those who knew Marcia they would probably describe her as warm and generous, thoughtful and very social. She was a teacher who loved children and a huge Jazz basketball and Little League fan.

Born in New Prague, MN to Theodore and Doris Flaten, they were a family who valued education and music. Mother to nine children which six now survive her; Kathleen Royster (Helper), Barbara Schmitz (Redding, CA), Judy Schmitz (Flagstaff, AZ), Susan Mallotte (Seattle, WA), David Gross (Des Moines, IA), Doug Gross (Woodstock, IL) and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death are her infant children Mary Ann and Phillip Schmitz, and Gary Gross.

She looked forward to going to the Carbon County Senior Center each day where she met her friends and formed deep bonds. The Center not only offered a daily nutritious meal and activities but a place she could socialize and call home. The Senior Center is one of Carbon County’s greatest gems for the well-being of our retirees who built this area.

Many thanks to Pinnacle Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for they provided Marcia with exceptional care during her final months.

A service will be held December 6, 2018 at 11 am at Price Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to her beloved church at www.pricechapel.org for they are doing wonderful work in our community and missions abroad. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where family and friends are always welcome daily and may share memories Marcia online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
