The Emery Spartans returned to the wrestling mat Wednesday night in Castle Dale, falling to North Sevier in a highly-competitive night of wrestling 54-21.

Byron Christiansen, Jarin Allen, Korvy Christiansen and Hayze Dalton all recorded wins for the Spartans at the varsity level. Several close matches were decided by points, which worked in favor of North Sevier in the win.

Wednesday’s meet comes following an exciting weekend for the Spartans at the Salem Hills Tournament. Competing against 26 teams at the tournament, Emery used a dominating first day with mixed results in the second to finish fourth overall.

The Spartans will continue the wrestling season Friday and Saturday with a trip to Juab for the Winter Classic two-day tournament.
