The Angel of Hope project is still in the midst of construction but winter months have put that on hold for now. Thanks to Price City the anticipated statue will be erected inside the Cliffview Cemetery east of Castle Heights Elementary and will represent a place of remembrance for grieving parents/loved ones who’ve lost a child.

“We’re still working hard, it’s very cold outside and it puts a little damper on things, you can’t pour concrete in the middle of the winter so what we’re focusing on while it’s so cold and we can’t really do actually work on our statue is raising the money we need,” explained a project member, Valorie Marietti. The statue itself has been paid for in full and ordered. However, funds are still needed for the base of the statue, landscaping costs, construction of benches and for any other expenditures that may arise in order to complete the project.

Right now, on the Angel of Hope Statue of Carbon/Emery County Facebook page, there is a Memorial Basket fundraiser taking place. “There’s an event which is the memorial Basket Fundraiser you can click on that, there are pictures if you’d like to donate money there are two baskets ready right now,” explained Marietti. Any individual or families that would like to donate a basket in honor of their love are greatly appreciated. The baskets can be filled with all the things that their loved ones enjoyed and their name will be attached to the basket in their memory.

“If you’re looking for a tax deduction our fundraiser is a tax deduction, we are a non-profit, especially if you are a business. This is something that’s going to be in our community forever. For a $1,000.00 donation you can put a name on the base of the statue or for a $100.00 donation you can put a name on the memorial wall,” stated Marietti. Anyone interested in making a cash donation can contact her at 820-8384.
