Price City Police Department through their Facebook page would like community members to be aware that bomb threat hoaxes is making the rounds throughout the state of Utah, as well as nationwide. At the time of their post on Thursday at 12:45 pm there were approximately 50 of these ruses in Utah, with at least one occurring in Price.
The threat is typically communicated via email, written in broken English, and demanding Bitcoin payment to prevent detonation of a device.
At the location in Price, officers thoroughly searched the facility and successfully cleared it, and the business has resumed normal operations.
If individuals receive a threat, please notify your local law enforcement. There is no indication that these are credible threats at this time, but PCPD do not want to take any chances. Check virtually any state or national news organization and they likely will have a story about this.
