A Veteran Services Officer is made available for all Carbon and Emery County Veterans twice a month at the Active Re-Entry location of 10 South Fairgrounds Road in Price. The representative assists any Veterans with understanding and filing for the appropriate benefits and services that they may be eligible for which can be a frustrating process.

“Most Veterans are confused because there is actually three different divisions of the VA (Veteran Assistance). There is Veteran Health Administration where you get your health care,” explained Veteran Services Officer, Joey Allred. “There’s Veteran Benefits Administration that’s service connection, percentage ratings, that’s compensation benefits, that’s pension. Then there’s the NCA which is the National Cemetery Administration that is where you get your burial benefits.” The problem is that the three divisions are on separate computer systems which makes it difficult to work closely together to ensure that each Veteran is getting the appropriate services. This is why Veterans are encouraged to work with a Veterans Services Officer for a better understanding of what each administration can offer to them.

Veterans who would like to meet with a Veterans Service Officer must set up an appointment. “Give Active Re-Entry in Price a call and schedule an appointment, I’m here two days a month and my schedule is booked pretty full,” stated Allred. Once an appointment has been made the Veteran will receive a list of what documents will need to be presented at their appointment. To make an appointment call Active Re-entry at (435) 637-4950 or stop by their office at 10 South Fairgrounds Road.
