A two-game in two-day stint was no problem for the Emery Lady Spartans, who easily defeated both Parowan and Enterprise at the Central High School Girls Basketball Preview Friday and Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.

Entering the weekend schedule with a perfect 5-0 record and fresh off of the stiffest test of the season, Emery obliterated Parowan 83-19 Friday afternoon.

Kacelyn Toomer scored a game-high 19 points, nine of which came from the three-point line, as Emery pounced on the opposition immediately. Holding a 48-10 advantage at the end of the first half, the Lady Spartans continued to showcase excellent defense by allowing just nine points over the final two quarters.

Megan Jensen helped push the offense with 14 points, while Macie Nelson scored 11 in a reserve role. A total of 12 different players scored at least two points as the Lady Spartans moved to 6-0 on the season.

The weekend trip came to an end on Saturday with another dominating win, this time 64-33 over Enterprise.

Outscoring Enterprise 19-2 in the first quarter, Emery coasted through the final three-quarters, which were fairly even. As a team the Lady Spartans allowed just 13 field goals, compared to 26 converted offensively.

Kacelyn Toomer was once again the leader offensively for Emery, this time pouring in 18 points in the victory. Kinlee Toomer contributed 16 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Megan Jensen notched 13 points and six steals.

Now 7-0 on the young season Emery will return to the court on Tuesday for a home match up with the Payson Lions. The final game of the calendar year will take place on Friday, again at home, as Emery battles North Summit.
