Barbara Cima Wilson, age 90, passed away December 20, 2018.
She was born March 1, 1928 in Helper, Utah to Peter and Mary Kos Cima. Married Norman Wilson July 2, 1948 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helper; Norm preceded her in death on January 19, 2015.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School. She attended college at St. Mary’s of the Wasatch in Salt Lake.
Barbara worked for Utah Power and Light Company for 30 years. She was the first female to work at Carbon Plant. She was the Office Manager and retired on May 1, 1983. She was a National Board Member for American Fraternal Union Insurance and was also involved on a state and county level with 4-H for years.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Susan (Ted) Deffendol, son, Dale (Dorothy) Wilson, all of Spring Glen; son, Gary (Kathleen) Wilson on Moab; grandchildren, Peter (Candace) Deffendol, Leslie (Grady) Allen, Krista Wilson, Kelly Wilson, Benjamin (Nicole) Wilson; Gregory McCawley and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Madeline (Louie) Tonc; brothers-in-law, Darrell Saunders and Glenn Wilson.
Preceded in death by her spouse Norman, parents Mary and Peter, sisters-in-law, Arlene Saunders and Beth Wilson.
Barbara was most happy tending her flowers and raising a garden. She also enjoyed fishing and camping.
Funeral service, Saturday, December 29, 2018, 10:00 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Vigil service, Friday, 7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
