The Carbon Boys Basketball team are taking part in the Steve Hodson Cancer Classic in Cedar City.

The Dinos took on host team Canyon View in the first of three games and came away with a 62-47 loss.

Derek Hillam scored 17 point and grabbed 13 rebounds and Ty Anderson added 14 on 71% shooting in a game that saw the Dinos shoot just 59% from the free throw line.

For the Canyon View Falcons Parker Holmes scored 18 points and Mason Lyman and Jaxson Jorgenson both added 10 points in the winning effort.

The Dinos outscored the Falcons in the second half but a slow start doomed the Dinos as they were outscored 31-13 in the first half.

Up next for Carbon (1-9, 0-3 in region) is Parowan (9-1, 3-0 in region) at 12:30 on Friday.
