The Carbon boys basketball team finished off tournament play on Saturday with an overtime win against the Panguitch Bobcats 52-48.

Lead once again by Derek Hillam with 24 points and Ty Anderson with 10 points and five rebounds. The Dinos went 2-1 at the Steve Hodson Cancer Classic in Cedar City. With wins over Panguitch and Parowan at the tournament the only loss for the Dinos was against the host team Canyon View.

The Dinos will now take the majority of the week off as they will then have two games in two nights.

The first game a home tilt versus Maeser Prep (4-7, 0-2 in region) on Friday. Maeser led by senior Grant Garner who is averaging 17. points per game and almost 7 rebounds and junior Carson Bailey with 10 points per game will look to get a win as they are in the midst of a four game loosing streak.

The second of back to back games the Dinos will travel to Castle Dale to face the Emery

Spartans (7-2,0-1 in region). The Dinos will look to slow down senior Kyson Stilson and his 23 point per game average and junior Brax Jensen who is chipping in with 14 points and 7 assists per game.

Both games can be heard on 95.3 the Peak along with streaming options on our website castlecountryradio.com or the Peak app. Both broadcasts start at 6:30 p.m. with the Landon’s Diesel pre game show and the games at 7 p.m..
