Castle Country Radio Stations are pleased to announce the January Charity of the Month as Lost and Found Ministries. The founder, David Safford saw a growing population of individuals in our community suffering from addiction and he knew he had to do something to help those community members.
He and his team opened the Lost and Found Thrift Store which is located at 275 North Main Street in Helper. The goal of opening the store was to start taking donations of any kind and selling the items back to the community to make a profit to help individuals seeking rehabilitation from drugs and/or alcohol. “We use that money very wisely, you know and that’s the beautiful thing is the community is actually helping to pay for these people to go to recovery,” stated Safford. “Our main focus is to share hope, we just want people to know that there is true freedom that they can claim victory over their lives.” The profits earned are helping send those individuals seeking help to faith-based rehab facilities. Last year they were able to send 39 individuals to rehab facilities and would like to see that number grow in the new year.
Goals for the future include continue group sessions on Friday evenings, opening a recovery facility in our community for both men and women. Monetary donations can be made at Mountain America Credit Union under the Lost and Found Ministries account and other donations can be dropped off at any time at their location, 275 North Main Street in Helper.
