The Carbon Dinos notched their first region win Friday night as they defeated Maeser Prep 58-49.

The Dinos were led by junior Brady Gagon with 19 points and six rebounds, junior Kaleb Nelson poured in 14 points and 11 rebounds and seniors Derek Hillam and Collin Lewis added eight point each as the Dinos now sit at 4-9 and 1-3 in region.

Hillam was injured in the first half and tried to make a go of it but left for good in the third when he was injured again. The rest of the team rallied around their captain for a 25-point explosion in the fourth quarter.

The Dinos are on a three-game winning streak headed into Saturdays match up in Castle Dale as they take on Emery (7-3, 0-2 in region). This will be the second matchup against the squads the first coming on the seventh of December when the Dinos came up short 76-43.

Tipoff for Saturdays Contest is set for 7 pm. The game will be available on KOAL AM 750 and KRPX 95.3.
