PRICE – Utah State Eastern freshman Emmery Wagstaff has been named this week’s Scenic Weest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The Evanston, Wyoming native led the Eagles in scoring at the CSN Holiday Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas.

During the three-game tournament she averaged 21 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

She scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in the Eagles double-overtime loss to the Southern Utah All-Stars on Friday.

This season, Wagstaff is her team’s leading scorer averaging 14.1 points per game. She is also averaging 4.7 rebounds and two assists per game.

The USU Eastern women’s basketball team is currently 12-3 overall heading into SWAC play this weekend.

They will take on Colorado Northwest this Saturday in their conference opener inside the BDAC.

Saturday’s game will start at 3 p.m. and can be seen on the Scenic West Network or through the NJCAA TV app.
