The Carbon Dinos took a step back on Friday night as they fell to Delta on the road 57-48.

The Dinos came out in the first quarter firing on all cylinders outscoring their opponents 19-15, but went cold in the second and third quarters scoring only 16 points and falling behind 44-35 heading into the fourth.

It was a battle of men named Derek on Friday night. For the Dinos Derek Hillam scored a team high 19 points to go with his 8 rebounds, Collin Lewis threw in 16 points as they were the only Dino players to score in double figures.

For Delta it was Derek Smith who had a game high 27 points and senior Jager Springer added 10 points on a night that saw the Rabbits go 13-of-19 from the free throw line. Delta is now 9-6 overall and 4-3 in Region 14 standings and currently sits in fourth place.

Carbon is at 5-12 and 2-5 in region standings with five games left to play, they find themselves faced with some very winnable games down the stretch.  Up next is a home game against Juab (9-8, 6-1 in region) the two teams met on December 12 with Juab coming out on top 52-40.
